Has anyone modded a pole saw? Update: Muffler mod! Video!

Might as well port the hedgers while we're at it

    Stihl MS-261 vs Echo CS-501P?

This is perfect. The 261 is honestly my most home owner recommended saw. Power to weight is nice and just about all most people actually "need"

    Stihl MS-261 vs Echo CS-501P?

261 is a work horse but almost killed me, get the echo for better karma juju and all that jazz. 261 is cursed in my own personal experience

    201T Builder

Stihl waiting for my 500i from Randy. If that comes out as well as I hope, ill probably just have him do a 201 for me as well. I just know the turn around time is kind of lengthy (I really don't know that, this is the first ported saw I've ordered online) . I probably feel that way cause I'm...

    201T Builder

Hello guys, I was just curious if someone could point me in the direction of a reputable builder for a 201T. Most likely will just do a new saw build. I know different builders are better at different saws or just more comfortable with certain models. Any input as far as direction or your...

    Husqvarna chains don't play

Not exactly. A 46" diameter tree. The bolt was found in the bottom of the face cut. Not a logging felling scenario either more of a technical tree felling scenario. If that makes more sense of it. I guess I should have painted a better picture. The point was the chains are definitely tough

    Husqvarna chains don't play

Well ive cut through one metal stake before but here's the latest. Took a 36" and 32" chain totally smoked to cut through this bad boy. It wasn't fun and I ended up cutting it out with an axe but here is the bolt that was 8" deep in the face cut. If you try hard enough they can totally cut...

    Bothering neighbors

Time for that electric saw ! If it's not a frequent occurrence, I would not worry about it. But I could be wrong to assume most people are reasonable and understanding.

Which self tuning saw for 24" buried in oak, novice user?

I've ran the 572xp she's kinda chunky imho. Also I've only run it double cutting with a 36" light bar. The experience was not it.

Which self tuning saw for 24" buried in oak, novice user?

462 should be plenty, obviously if you have the extra cash a 500i. if you're just cutting firewood that should be more than enough. Depending on the scale of work and how often you will use it I wouldn't get carried away with anything too fancy. Just learn how to identify tension and compression...

How Many Saws in Your 3 Saw Plan???

201T 16" bar 500i ported with muff mod 32" bar ( Before the 500i a 461 then 462) 661c Ported with muff mod 42" bar Haven't run into anything that couldn't be handled with this trio. I've personally put all these saws through hell with the exception of the 500i (still waiting on its arrival)...
