Givin it a good test this past week while on holidays. Made a brisket on monday.
Shotgun shells yesterday and today made breakfast fatties and pretty much after that got some ribs on.

First little test run was good couple big steaks.
Its alot easyer to maintain tenp than my little tin one but it also can get hot in a hury. I think im gonna like it lol
Real test will be on vacation in couple weeks. im gonna do 2 briskets on it.

So it had no problem gettin to hot temps. I need to build a damper for stack still to hopefully help restrict a bit.
As for a greese dam when i cut the opening for fire box ther is a good lip ther that i hope is enough to stop the grease from running into firebox

Opening is about 4 inch by 10ish. I do plan to make some sort of a baffle ther to help defect heat a bit.
Havn't made a greese drip spot yet in it yet.
Finally got a hole cut in it. Now should i try and power wash it out now or just cut away?
I kinda of figured if i got a hole in it if ther was some flameabke still in tjer the pressure has some where to go.

For the stove part i was gonna block off the chimney and cut back of stove out.

Gonna build a stick burner. I picked up an old wood stove to use as the fire box.
Not sure if im gonna do the 6 inch exhaust just out the side or make a collector box for it yet. May do just outthe side and if it works good like that then roll with it. I i think it may benafit from a collector...

Leaning.twards trying the exhaust piped into it method. Let it run in ther for a half hour or so and cut it.
