I look forward to seeing the videos. I’m a fan of modifying a stock muffler like a lot of guys here but I also love seeing new products and it looks like someone put some time into these.
Have you done a weight comparison of these to stock?
This is the first time I’ve read an explanation of a progressive guide that made sense to me. I even bought one a while back but didn’t really understand the strategy of it. I gave it away because it was awkward to hold and fit poorly onto some chains.
That works for me. I’ve got a raker grinder also so I can set them wherever you’d like too. For felling and limbing I’ve set them at the same depth as the stihl file guide and it works out pretty well.
I’m in north central wi. I’ve got a Simington. I don’t want to get into the sharpening business but I could sharpen a few chains for you if you would be able to wait a week or two for me to get the time.
Did you get a chance to try it out? I forgot to mention that they switched from 100grit on the earlier wheels to 150grit on the newer ones. My original is 100 grit but I ordered the custom one with 150. The 100 is plenty aggressive enough so I would guess that the 150 would still cut good but...
I’ve got one also. I’ve had it for about a year and a half.
Pros: Very good quality abrasive
No dressing needed
Showing no signs of getting worn so far
Great customer service (Dan is great to talk to)
Cons: The shape they sell works well but it’s...
I’ve found the same issues with the stihl es lite bars. I didn’t realize what was going on until I bought a sugi hara bar and had more oil than I needed. The sugi hara has a significantly larger hole. Probably double the area.
Eric and I will have some syrup for sale like we have in the past if anyone is interested. We didn’t get to make very much this year so the syrup we have is made by a coworker of mine.
I have one of these and wasn’t real impressed…until I had it ported. Now it’s terrific. They really gain a lot from a port job. They’re a good solid saw with good filtration, manual carb and a heck of an oiler. Overall this would be a good deal.
