My custom CBN wheel arrived today. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks very accurate to what I requested. I’ll hopefully get to try it out this weekend and report back on how it works.

I was able to sharpen up one chain with the new profile and give it a test run. The chain cut great. The 150 grit almost seems to grind better than the 100grit did. They matched the profile I wanted perfectly. I’m able to get more forward lean on the side plate without making the top plate razor thin and I don’t touch the tie straps.

The wheel on the left is the custom wheel and the original is on the right.

Looks like you're getting the grind to go from the tooth outer corner, right into the middle of the inside radius of the tooth.
The few times I tried with a hand file, getting that well placed angle, meant that the file was also notching the side plates. Close to the rivets.
Everything is stored in another county or else I'd try to find the chain that I tried filing a few teeth on and post a pic or two.

Oh and the chain was a 3/8 chisel tooth on .050 drive links. Probably an Oregon variant.
