    500hr on a ported 661

Awesome video Amazing how well it held up after that amount of time. Clearly ported and re assembled by a master

My wife got a us a full wrap handlebar for the 365X-Torq!

Dang good saw, it really is the best value for the money when it comes to new in the husky lineup IMO. Up here the 460 rancher was about 700$, and a 365 was about 850. To me it was a no brainer for the extra 150

Old 395xp - at what point do you do heavy maint/light rebuild?

Maybe, however if you look at the crank it looks mint with no signs of heating up around the big end bearing.

    Quad for the wife, suggestions?

She currently has an arctic cat 650 v2 from 05. She really likes it but it’s on its last legs I have repaired and welded the frame twice, I have rebuilt the front diff and the engine right now is dismantled cause it was burning oil. We are looking at another 300$ in parts for me to put it back...

Any one know what this is?

I really like these threads, really wanted to answer this but had no idea on what it was or even a guess on what it could be used for!

    Chipped plating/cylinder

Looks like a chunk gone on the edge of the port to me. what does the piston look like on that side?

Metal detector - what to get for big logs?

if your milling outside city limits you may want to pass on a metal detector. 8/10 trees i mill have buckshot in them, and I can say that the saw usually goes right through it without adverse effects to the cutters. If you had a wand you would be turning down quite a few candidates ;)

    toro 928OAE improvements

Picked this unit up 2 years ago, used it only 6 hours last year.. this year we are getting a lot more snow. I enjoy tinkering so I’m going to post up how I have made this unit better. first thing I did was increase the main jet size with a drill set. I went one size larger than stock. What a...

Optimum fuel ratio for longevity of husqvarna saws

Have you had any hot start issues? That’s where I think elevation comes into play with these saws

    Bacon Hunting

It’s too bad these lil buggers are destroying the land with overpopulation, I heard that hunters can’t kill em fast enough to control the population explosion. I have also been told that they have been spotted as high as Alberta Canada where I live. Fish and game here is asking people who have...

Optimum fuel ratio for longevity of husqvarna saws

The one thing that auto tune does not account for is elevation. it cannot tell how dense the air is, and still only tunes by rpm. in my opinion, yes my opinion, this makes the saw work harder at 4000ft versus sea level with the same mix. The question I always wondered is if you ran a richer...

    Handle heating element only?

Up here in Canada you must buy the whole wrap in either half or full. I have bought a few for a few saws and they are usually a “kit” that comes with dogs and a chain catcher for the full wrap ones. At least that’s how husky does it

    281xp Mystery

I had the same problem, but it wasn’t the clutch cover. The bar grooves were peened on the top near the adjustment nuts. When you tightened the clutch cover it would not allow the chain to move, the inner lip in the groove was pinching the drivers. So I got rid of the inner grooves from chain...
