Thinking About Buying a 1967 John Deere 450 Straight Dozer

Went to look at a JD 450 today. She's been sitting for about 5 years, but I think there's a good chance that she'll run with a hot battery and maybe a sniff of ether. Should be a 1967 model, SN 56121. Had a ripper at some point, but it's MIA. Would be good to have one on it; looks like...

Thanks for all the info. They're for sale for $200 for all of them. I'm going to pass. Scott

    McCulloch Chainsaw ID?

These are for sale local to me and not expensive, but I'm not terribly familiar with McCulloch. Anyone want to take a guess on model numbers? Anything decent here?

    What's on your bench?

1970 small chamber AMC 360 heads; they're for my budget 360 for the 24 Hours of Lemons 72 Javelin race car.

Got a Free Cat 977H Track Loader. Now What?

My latest fiasco is a 1971 Allis Chalmers HD11E that's been sitting in a field for a few decades. Here's a link to the video in case anyone is interested -

    What's on your bench?

On the bench today? A 1971 Allis Chalmers HD 11E. Been sitting for about 20 years; was on the property when the guy bought it and he doesn't have any history. It's roached, and I really have no interest in putting it on a lowboy and taking it home, but I am going to try to get it running...

    What's on your bench?

Carburetors. A local shop was closing down and they were selling the carburetors they had collected over the years. I ended up with 44 of them. Some Holley, about 10 Edelbrock - mostly 1406 600 cfm, a bunch of Quadrajets (including one from a 1968 396/427), some Solex, some Weber, Autolite 2...

So what did you do today?

More work on the cage for the '72 Javelin 24 Hours of Lemons race car. Welded the tops, then painted it, put it back on the boxes, welded the boxes, welded the cage to the boxes.

    What's on your bench?

Melted 15-50 outlet for the Long Haired General's plug in hybrid. After I removed, disassembled, and diagnosed the problem (the the help of some smart sparky's) the company that did the install a year ago came back and fixed it using a Bryant (made in 'Murica) outlet that I purchased. I also...

    Mildly porting a 026

I'd definitely do a muffler mod - gut or drill out the baffle and add another port. From there, I'd do a base gasket delete or use a thinner gasket. Having said that, I've built and tweaked an 026 before, and I'm thinking @lehman live edge slab is right about not being room for a BG delete...
