    What's on your bench?

Very nice! Is that a '72? I remember the days of getting hosed on insurance. I had a '66 Corvette, 425 hp 427, 4 speed, 4.11's, knockoffs as my daily driver in New Orleans in 1995-1996. I was paying $400/month in insurance.

    What's on your bench?

They're actually not super strong, but should work for what I'm doing because we won't be doing any hard launches. Strongest trans from that era would be an A-833 hemi 4 speed.

    What's on your bench?

Rebuilt a close ratio T-10 for my budget '72 Javelin endurance race project (24 Hours of Lemons). Now I need to build a backup trans.

Thinking About Buying a 1967 John Deere 450 Straight Dozer

There's a 450C that I may end up with, but it doesn't have the adjustable blade.

    What's on your bench?

The spec is .001” per cylinder so a v8 head needs to be warped less than .004”. In other words it was within spec before I started but not great. now it’s less than .0015 so that’s quite good.

    What's on your bench?

AMC 360 cylinder heads. They were .003" warped. Used a granite surface plate and some 80 grit to surface them and now they're less than .0015" warped.

I don't think the owner is interested in selling parts. Thanks

That's about all she is. Not many parts on it worth salvaging.

Thinking About Buying a 1967 John Deere 450 Straight Dozer

Spent a few hours messing with it today and I've seen enough. It's a turd. Nothing is in good shape and there are lots of half-ass farmer fixes. Got it to turn over, but it wouldn't start. Probably a good thing because it had a severed hydraulic hose, so all the hydraulic oil would have ended on...

Thinking About Buying a 1967 John Deere 450 Straight Dozer

Went to look at a JD 450 today. She's been sitting for about 5 years, but I think there's a good chance that she'll run with a hot battery and maybe a sniff of ether. Should be a 1967 model, SN 56121. Had a ripper at some point, but it's MIA. Would be good to have one on it; looks like...
