From what I can see, that is going to be a very good saw after you get it thoroughly cleaned and refurbed. Take your time and try to avoid getting crap where it shouldn't go (like into an open exhaust port.) Be especially attentive to any of the rubber parts (AV buffers, fuel hose, intake boot...

I'd start by removing the bail from the handle. That would make it easier to reconnect the cable end to the bail.

Curiously, the rivet diameter on the 7/8" chain appears no larger, maybe even smaller, than that of the much smaller chains.

That carb is a rotary or barrel design. The one screw you see adjusts the idle speed. There are adjustments for the hi and low needles but they are not obvious. See for helpful info on that type carb.
