Red Neck Squish Band Sanding!!!

Putting together another Asian 660 and the squish band on the Cross jug needed some attention. It was obvious from the marks on the piston that something was prematurely contacting it near the inside of the squish band.

Not having the proper tools, I took a Huztl piston, duct taped some sand paper to it, put some oil on the sides, and inserted two large paint stirrers to work it back and forth. Not real fancy, but I think it worked.

Here here for innovation! I love it! I guess I need to build one of these rice burners soon.

I think the group purchase for this year is the 440s, but other saws may be available.

The group purchase is great prices and low shipping costs. IMO, can't be beat.

Mike how are you cutting down the rakers like that?
Belt sander?
I can't tell for aure what he did. I use a sanding disc on a 6" grinder

Flat file for knocking the back of the cutter off and for taking the rounded front parts of the rakers off.

I use a couple small cut off wheels stacked up in a dremmel tool for tunneling and thinning the rakers.

3" cut off wheel in a 90* die grinder for the rivets.

Flat files and a couple different sized round files for most everything else.

This chain was already filed square when I started on it. Actually sharpening the chain will be my last step.

I think I finally have my 064 ready to work. It got a flywheel, coil, wire harness, brake handle, fuel lines, fuel filter, starter rope and handle, and most importantly aluminum bucking spikes.
