Who wants to do the chains today. :( 60" and down, 2 boxes full just dropped off. I guess I need to get in the mood for repetition BS :p

Finished the 21's carb rebuilds and started on this 026 pro next.
Female owned and bought new when she loaned a 029 out and was never returned.

Need to have a talk with her about her mix type etc. Her mix isnt going back in the saw. Using mine now for testing.

I have to say, from my experience: if you patiently explain to her about the importance of fresh gas and proper mix, she will probably learn the lesson better than a lot of the 'know it all' guys who won't listen...

I thought huskys were the only ones that lost their screws? Got them running this weekend then made a trip to the parts store to get enough bolts and screws to hold them together

I always break it down to dollars and cents for them.
Spend $7.50 gal for some efree fuel or spend $70 plus on me dealing with it.

7.50? My god

For 102 race gas. Has like a 2 year shelf life. The station down the street sells 91 efree but I question that sometimes. So better safe than sorry. I try and get them on the dump and run dry routine but that proves to be futile sometimes.

Just test it yourself. You don't even need a tester. Take a jar and put some water in it and make a line where the water is then dump their fuel in it. Shake it up and let it sit for about 5 minutes. If the water content doesn't rise above that line then it's e free.

That's simple. Almost too simple.

Most homeowners (who typically run their saws two to three times per year (at most)) would be best served by running fresh e-free mix and a new Chinese knock-off air filter every time they run their saw. When finished, dump what's left in the saw and run the saw dry. Pour the leftover mix in the tank of your truck. Rinse. Dry. Repeat.

Same logic as @Dub11 . Paying 10 bucks for "special gas", oil and a filter sure beats 70 bucks and an undetermined waiting period at the repair shop... all because you left old gas in the saw while it sat in your 140-degree shed for the last six months.

I started such a protocol with some of my saws a while back and I'll be durned, they start and run far more consistently. Works for me.

You can make your own non e gas...
Add water, shake, let sit.... Pour gas off top...
E attaches to water...
You will lose a couple of octane points with this method so start with high octane fuel...
Works if you don't have non e available.
