So I got a call from a guy about fixing a couple cut-off/concrete saws; TS800 and 2 TS420s. Needs them done ASAP.

TS800 needed the flywheel side crank case half replaced and general cleanup. Putting it back together now. Base gasket delete or replace the base gasket?

TS420 #1 has no compression whatsoever. Haven’t torn into it yet.

TS420 #2 the damned morons lost the flippy floppy gas cap so they ran it without a gas cap. As you can expect it caught fire.

Thought I would start on the 2083 54mm i bought as non runner. Had broken a ring with past owner, so cleaned up the p and c. Looks like the squish had had some stuff pass before. Considering 1995 to to bad.

Found this inside the 800

626B4A9D-C2B5-4B63-ACFC-BAFA635392B8.jpeg

A little 800 sand paper and it looks like new. Cleaned up the jug real well, sanded all the carbon out of the exhaust port and polished it up real nice (180, 320, 60, 800 then wired wheel to polish). Popped the carb apart and was amazed the damn thing even ran!!!! I had to use a diamond ball on the dremel to clean the conrete out of the INSIDE of the carb! New gaskets and seals and back together. Primer bulb disintegrated when I was pulling the saw apart and that’s the only part I don’t have. So, off to the store tomorrow to try to get one. Other than that this junk is done! Wait for the Dirko to dry and test firs it tomorrow. Vacuum tested it and the seals were good, so it should be a runner.

What piston did you decide to use in the end Kevin?
Both

I’m going to be playing around with both, just to see which one works out best for this saw ........ Jake has graciously allowed me some extra time with his saw, so I’mma gunna mess around with 3 pistons, maybe 4 if the mailman shakes his leggs and an oem nib 394 piston gets here

Looks real good Kevin!
Thank you Jeff !!
