99% of Norwegians doesnt use spikes, that's why those crank cases looks awful, even low hour saws looks awful

Nevermind i saw you're later post.
I never liked the west coast spike's but now that i cut the dead lol
And don't sell logs.
The are great for loose shedding bark tree's
The dead maple and dead ash are bad about that.20170909_152051.jpg

Beautiful 288, hard to find here, does it carry mahle cylinder or KS?
I've had 8 or 9 281/288s and they have all been mahle never had a ks lol
That looks like a very clean 281 you have there.

This is just a piece of chainsaw, I have some 281 with broken right carter and this came more like donor, it was not complete. Here the 281-288 almost all with cylinder KS
Fix them and you will never get rid of them.
Even stihl guy's like a 288.
One of the best huskys ever built.

Thanks, Mastermind recommended I try a cross top end. I bought the saw knowing the piston was scored and thought I could save the jug. Then I took it apart.
Haven't tried a cross topend a few pistons i used were nice.
Might build a 660 and try a topend.
