gee you get around , how about it , there young fella

Happy to help out.

I am not surprised, people did not think of anyone but brewz.

One thing that amazes me is how folks can work on a saw and regularly take pics as they go and post to a thread on it. I find trying to do it effects my rhythm of work to much.

Easy
Each time you pause to drink some beer you take a pic and post it.
When I was learning (do we ever stop) I loved threads with lots of pics.

I enjoy posting stuff up in the hope someone gets something from it one day.

I have limited tools set up for metal working so Nick or Vince may be better options.

They all do good work!

found my build sheet. all measurements are in sae & duration

stock
intake 165
exhaust 173
transfer 107?
squish 69

cut .060 off the base, deleted base gasket

intake 176
exhaust 157

I cut the squish flat, .022, witch left me with a narrow band, cut the piston to match and recut the dome so there was no sharp edge.
epoxied the flour of the intake to 160.
raised transfers to 120.
widened exhaust from 1.042 to 1.280.

saw runs strong, I don't have any pics or vids of it.

Thats stock:
93.5/107?/82.5
69 squish is horrific!

TM, do these cylinders have a flat base like a stihl or a lipped base like a husky?
I am just wondering if it would be possible to sand the base to get squish down to 20 thou without using a lathe?

removing .050 from the base should give something closer to 99* on the exhaust and would definately need to intake filled back up to 78 or 80*

That thing is never going to be fun to mill with with that sort of timing and squish

it's been awhile but I think it was flat. the combustion chamber is as ugly as it gets. I don't know if you can make it that tight in stock form.

thanks for putting all that up and finding it , as a person that has never been into this sort of thing , the numbers look very impressive , but ive got no way of doing any of that , would need to send it away to get done
was that saw done for racing and how did the saw run , i read a comment where it was said that "it wouldnt be any good for milling " whats your thought
also what would some thing cost to get done

this is a 660, that's about as wide of a squish band as you can have without issue

m__10fe-jpg.47989

this really has no squish band to speak of, it's all a dome with steeper angles then the piston. I think this is the worst head/ chamber design in the word of saws.

and the pic shows the 757 has a flange.

the saw I did was a work saw.
