My experience in use and repair has been almost entirely Stihl and I own 3 or 4 to one over husky.
Recently I rebuilt a 298XP and did a little cleaning and admiring of a 262xp before selling it. I also own a NIB 550xp and a 335xpt.
I got a little taste, and I like it.
Don’t tell Jeff or Dall.

I look forward to more husky builds, maybe it’s just the change of scenery that’s intriguing, something new to learn and enjoy.

Both brands are well built and engineered machines.
And then there's Dolmar.......

I should include the bigger bar plates. I wish I knew about the kit before I scrounged a used handle bar for 2x the kit.

I bought my 394-in-a-box for $150, put another 200 or so in getting it together and bam - tree niney feckin fo - I think is how it goes, lol.
None of these were in a box. Just thrown under the bench. Free though...

Had to give the 460 back as a parts saw. It wasn' supposed to be in the hoard. I've traded port work to Dallas and DDave to make runners out of a few, and bought some used and new parts to revive a couple more. Right now, all but 2 066 carcasses are runners . My 394 is on the bottom left

I gotta stop buying saws for a bit but it was a hard derision. I sat on the floor of dealership for 20 min with the 395 and 372. I looked like a kid playing blocks. I wonder how I'll like the 372? My 1st and probably favorite saw is the 044, it still looks new but I rebuilt it a few years back. Let me guess the 372 beats up on it.:(

Never ran an 044, but I doubt a 372 "beats up on it". What little bit of experience I have with the 0xx Stihls is that they really have great torque and get it done with torque rather than raw speed.

My xpw is faster than my 044 that I had. 046 is a closer match.
