I had a MS660 that I ported in 2012 come back for repair. It would not start......

The owner had put it in storage for a year. When he got it out, it would pop, but not fire up. He tried a few things, then let John King AKA T-Bone75 try to fix it. Finally, they gave up, an sent it here.

Ideas?

This is just my way of thinking Randy so please excuse me if it sounds all to simple.
Without establishing a ...truth.. its a lottery of posable reasons.
Did it go into storage running good.
Was it dry stored...Fuel.
Those are 2 things that might point me in a given direction if i was in you situation . Thing is....the chap that has already given it what for i would think will have uncovered the normal stuff ....So at least you may have a list of things looked into...Ergo ...whats left .

Fuel in tank?

Fuel and impulse lines in good shape?

Fuel/air mixture correct?
Air leak could be preventing saw from running, but still allow it to pop-off.

Intake tract/exhaust&muffler/transfers free of obstruction?

Half full of fuel.

Vac tested whole unit, then the impulse line, and the whole fuel line including the elbow and carb connection.

Rebuilt carb and pressure tested it.

No obstructions.

New plug?

Three different new and used plugs.

Now........one plug never showed spark, one showed yellow spark, and another was bright blue.

Also, I tried three different coils. And two different carbs. Tried blocking fuel off and just firing it on a shot of ether.....in case it was flooding.

Then I got a backfire. Still no extended run.
