Picked this up as a parts saw for the one I posted before. Was just too nice to part out. Piston was scored and cylinder just useable.
Put a vec piston in and did the usual seals, lines, carb. Couldn't help but widen the exhaust port and matched muffler and gasket. Compressions a little low #130 but didn't expect much from the cylinder and vec...
Rips a lot better then #130 suggests. Even pulling the 24" Windsor we threw on there.
My 52 on the right beat to heck and back. Blows #160 but gotta do crankbearings soon. Put +-3 tanks through er today.
The left is $15 craftsman 2.1 my neighbor loves. He recently had to Q-bond the points back together. Ran the heck out of it today and didn't miss a beat.
We slicked this off in less then 2 hours today. With saws that owe nobody a thing.
That’s awesome. 52e was my first saw and due for new crank bearings as well. Taught me a lot about how to handle a saw, keep it sharp, maintain a saw, etc. Would not part with mine for anything.
Here is my 2149W getting a new 2153 top end.
I cut the base to adjust the squish but haven't even muffler modded it yet.
So far I have only ran 2 tanks through it. I had a stock 346xp ne and this jonsered seems noticeably stronger. (?)
