Thanks, that is what I was thinking. My saw has a limiter but it seems to kick in more like around 13,900 or so. The limiter on the Dolmar is also not as harsh as on my Echo saws, it doesn't send it tumbling backwards by 2000 RPM. One gent on the Dolmar FB group suggested that it is more important with this saw to ensure you have enough oil in the mix rather than worry about RPM. All my oil burners get synthetic mixed at 36:1 with fuel stabilizer.
Its been observed by some that the 420 5105 and the 6100 "Can" in theory , show over the limiter now and again . The 5105 for me seems to be the saw that has the most tendency to rev higher with the least movement of the H screw so thats why I opt for a little bellow the max free setting when at its hottest working temp. The 420/421 seems to be the most reluctant to get towards the coil max 13500 rpm ...so i don't force things and have found (just like others ) 13000 rpm ish, is a nice number with the saw giving power under load.

Does anyone know if Makita/Dolmar will be bringing out an update to the 9010 and if so, how far away it might be please?
9010 is showing in the 2017/2018 German catalogue without a change ...

In the German catalog I looked at, all the saws had different styling compared to those on the USA website. They looked like the saws shown on the USA Dolmakita website but with the correct brand applied!

Ok folks, the custom Dolmar decals are ready for production. I'll be ordering some for my 5105 tonight. The gent that sells them is Roger Bennett, you can reach him at bennettz@mwt.net. I'm encouraging him to join up here.

The German catalogue is what im used to looking at so there all still the same styling to me which is why i wasn't sure what you meant. We dont get the Dolmar coloured Makita/Dolmar like you do in the USA.

You're lucky in that sense. If the only real difference between the new Dolmars over there and the Dolmakitas over here is stickers then I will have to hit you up for some should I ever get one.

Nothing has changed here with the logo...we can still get ether the Dolmar or a Makita in Smurf blue and black . Talk to AJS..he has the connections with stickers /decals .

I am lucky that I have a lot of different Dolmar saws but my 4 favorites are the ps-410, 115i, 120si and 143. If I had to just have one saw it would be a toss up between the 120 and the 115. The 115i seems more like a lightweight 60cc saw in use and is extremely well balanced with a 16 or 18 inch bar. 120si's are pretty cool though.

Just ordered a Dolmar ps-6400 along with a 7900 cylinder. Don't have it yet so no pictures. Actually won't have it for a while cause Im having it sent to TN to have some banana pudding stuffed in it. Feels like it did when my wife would tell me we were having another baby...
