My dad had me order him a solid state coil for a 1010S years ago. He said the old one was bad. I got it from Scott at Chainsawr. I bet the ground connection at the coil screw was just crusty. He called and said the NOS one wouldn't fire. I called Scott. He said sand the laminations under the ground strap, clean the connector, and try again. Worked fine.

A coil is in essence an auto transformer with a common ground for the low and high voltage windings connected together .The problem arises due to the fact the coil laminations are steel and the saw engine is aluminum alloy ,dissimilar metals .Galvanic reaction .Often over looked but could cause all kinds of problems .

Got to run the saws more today. Got a lot of trees down and cleaned up.
No issues with any of the saws. 1010S, 7-10A, PM700 all ran great, and that 700 is AMAZING in soft wood with the 28" bar and full comp chain! It just flies thru.

Seems you have the saw happy with full set of teeth. I know a few people that would be happier eating with a full set of teeth.

True.
I guess that includes me too. Keep breaking the molars. Too much bite pressure. I say they just needs to make stronger teefs.

A fellow called me a few weeks ago looking for an oil tank for a 32/35/38 cc Mac, I was able to set him up. Today he dropped off a PM605 that needed some help.

I have been going through my collections of documents, shop manuals, IPL's, literature, etc. and have a few extras to move along. If you see something interesting let me know and we can try to work something out.

I think I have two originals and one single sided photo copy of the 1-40 1-50 1-60 Shop Manual.

I think there are two of this 10 Series Electric Start System manual for the 3-10E, 5-10E, and 10-10E model saws.

20200507_124151.jpg

One copy of the Mac 1-10 and 2-10 shop manual.

More to come.
