Troubleshot the basics, new plug, wiring harness, kill switch coil gap etc. Gets plenty of fuel but won't fire.Looking for some help before I order a $100 coil.

I suppose you could check the spark plug wire and boot connection before you start spending money.
You say plenty of fuel but won't fire.. does that mean it still doesn't spark at all? I ask because a bad carb will do the same thing.

I checked the plug lead, both ends. I'm getting no spark. P&C are great, compression great. The only thing I noticed was when I put the saw down to move some wood it loaded up and then shut off. I haven't been able to start it since. The saw always started on third pull.

Could a bad fuel solenoid cause a no spark?

no but it will cause the idle issues he was stating. someone that just joined said that stihl is about to chance the design of the fuel solenoid and it suppose to be pretty bad ass afterward

I think I`ve read in the past somewhere that if no electrical connection is to the solenoid valve, no spark is given. Normally if the engine is off the solenoid valve is open.

Apparently not many people have had to replace a cm coil. I had to replace it.
