Hi
(first post go easy)

After reading through most of the thread content.I am pretty sure I have what is a 034s cylinder. At first I didn't know until I came here.(great thread)

I brought a second hand cylinder thinking it was a 036cylinder
Looks like I brought a 034s cylinder.

Open fitment to the 036 case the top cover fits but hits the top fin. This would cause heat problems is this correct? pretty sure I read that here.
Could I fit a 034av top cover to the 036 case with 034s cylinder would this fix the problem?

The cylinder also came with a dome shape piston is that standard for 034s cylinder?

cheers

Do you have some pics?

No dome shaped piston on any 1125. Ive seen people try to run a 46mm 028S piston in a standard 034 jug and the squish was huge.

Thanks for the reply.

I shall try and work out how to upload a photo.Bit busy over the next couple of days but I will see how I go.
Interesting about the piston,I wonder what else the piston would fit pretty sure its 48mm.I shall measure with calipers and see.

Inside of cylinder I asked about a couple pages back. Mahle, no decomp.

Tore it all the way down and glad I did. Flywheel side bearing is shot. Both side have metal shields.

That saw likely not original.

I’ve seen shielded bearings in early 036 and 044. Never in a later version.

I like that these threads get brought up to the surface every now and then,,, it shows how useful these threads really are. :D
Dragging this one up again.

The more I read the worse it gets. Conversion jugs :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

My saw is German made 11 first two digits with an X at the end metal handlebar.
Cover says 034AV. Chassis says 034S. Jug says 034 from the top. Side tensioner and no snorkel on the carb. Carb is an Irish Tilly white plate. Red lever, green fuel line, looks like Christmas in there, 034 two bolt no spacer front port exit muffler... whew.
I have a suspected 48mm 036 no decomp jug that fits right into this 034 top cover. The more I read the less it becomes useful.
My head hurts from rereading this chit.

I do have a 360 pro tank to use on this as a climbing saw if needed. The 360 Pro has a torn out brake pin but the rest is good, plastic handlebar and runs good. Not sure what go do with that saw yet.
My clean no decomp 036 is still here.

Guess pics will help and a peek down the intake throat.
Saw looks original with shinny fake like luster of AM type jugs on this jug. It just came in yesterday. Did not remove the muffler yet because it will get torn down.
Spark plug was loose but no damage. Needs a plug boot. The rest is nasty dirty and the recoil was just gone over and cleaned by me after checking all the rest of the screws. Had ten pounds of chit in it.
