Just to clarify, has any engine work been done to this, or is it untouched?
Just curious as to why you chose to go with Hyway piston and not use the OEM piston.
No engine work, I used a hyway because it gave me .019 squish without gasket and the oem gave it .017 just a little tight IMO. The hyway quality seems good as well

Yeah, someone just had to rescue this poor orphaned saw so out of the goodness of my heart I figured I'd do it and reduce the burden the rest of y'all already do by rescuing other poor orphaned saws.

Kindof a "it takes a village" view I suppose? Lol

Paypal was sent at 2 this afternoon (or whenever that PP sent post was I wrote) so it should be waiting for you John.

Glad you got a great saw Mel, congrats!

Thanks, Dustin.

Man, here's my German 034S I bought new in 1988:

This is the one we sent out to Scott after the TN GTG at Randys. Looking forward to linin' 'em up.

No question the German will flat-out smoke the American after Scotts work to it, but the American'll make a good all-around beater firewood saw.

At least that's how I'm justifying it, lol...

Thanks Dustin. I ran that MMWS 028S http://opeforum.com/threads/mastermind-ported-stihl-028-super.6503/ I picked up a few months ago for the first time today. Ran it for a couple hours in all sorts of wood the local tree company dropped off lengths of at a friends house, man I wanna tell ya that little saw just ran.

Been so long since I've used that German 034S that I can't help but believe this 028S has more nutz modded then the 034S has stock, lol

Looking forward to getting it back from Scott just to run it and see the difference!

Thinking this American 034S will become go-to firewood saw with a 20" on it, and won't lose any sleep if it gets wore out. Though, because we can't leave well-enough alone, it'll probably end up at that MOFO clinic if I had to guess, lol
