Just curious you prefer eating the cats or crappie? I’ll eat cat but not my favorite. I Like large bluegill never had crappie. I like so close to the ocean I typically eat whatever I catch out there. Need to get going

Prefer the crappie. Light tasting flaky meat, just fried after dipping in corn meal and a little salt after they come out of the fryer. The blue cats we have been catching have a very white meat as well just a little stronger taste to them. I take the time to cut out all red from the fillets when I fry them and it makes a big difference.
