Ill get a pic of the mod on my 575. I cut into the side like jeremy, just a little further back. Theres a baffle and tube in mine, so i cut in right at the seam, which helps bypass the baffle. Was able to fit one of joes deflectors in there.

My humble Dolmar PS-7900 muffler mod!



No, not kidding - it's modded!
Birdcage drilled and grinded more open, stock outlet grinded open maximally while maintaining the ability to keep the stock spark arrester screen.



It has a nice pop at idle and a mean scream at WOT.
The sound level is bearable without hearing protection (idle/WOT).



I like the stock look!

Guess the deflector wasnt as far back as i thought. As i said that i cut in far enough back to sort of bypass a part of the baffle. Gives it a nice pop at idle and definitely made a difference in how it runs.

I strongly advise against trying to split these mufflers. I ruined one attempting to get it apart to get at the baffle.
