346 runs real strong!
026 needed to have the noodles cleaned out. Would have done better if it cleared them out of the cover.
When I noodle, I usually angle the nose down and keep the saw up a little higher in the back. Seems to clear the noodles better for me.

Thanks for the comparisons. [emoji106]

I use west coast covers on all my saws. And I noodle tip down. I was hoping others would chime in and offer some info. Just curious if my cutting theories have any validity or if I am just wet between the ears. Lol

As soon as that 026 gets broken in, it will really run like a raped ape.

Fred, the STIHL 026 runs and cuts, just clogged up. Didn't need to be worked on and taken apart like those OTHER saws. Lol. [emoji23]

Yes. I just use the regular west coast cover on all my saws, 026 through 660.

I like the smaller covers better for noodling. There's less area covered for it to pack.
Were would you cut at? I was thinking about this too. My lil mofo did the same thing.

Area right behind the studs and just keep the rear to protect the tank.
Yep, best way. On other models look into a roller chain catcher as the Al ones tend to clog (1128s and 1125s especially). I have a designated noodling 064 with no catcher, modified inner dawg (points ground down so they don't catch the wood), and cut-up clutch cover.

Anyone have any pics of the cut clutch covers that are better for noodling?
