It was the high point in ‘dripping in crome’ from Detroit.
Simms CCC Bridge, a little bit of history.
DESCRIPTION
"This suspended bridge at the Upper Sacramento River Sims River Access was built in 1933. It was the first major construction project completed in the U.S. by the Civilian Conservation Corps crews in the 30s.
It took a bit of grit and determination for the Forest Service and the CCC to build it.
[A plaque next to the bridge records that] Raymond Huber who supervised the project remembers I was given a plan of a 160-foot suspension bridge and no real book of regulations. Well, we made our own regulations as we went along. We finally worried our way through and completed our bridge in September 1933.
The initial purpose of the bridge was to provide access to the east side of the Sacramento River for fire protection.

Beauty. My FIL has one like it but needs body work and put back together. It's not numbers matching or anything but he does have all the trim to make it a complete car. When I build a garage I'm going to have a talk with him about letting it go. I know he will sell it to me. He has 2 sons that are not interested in it and he doesnt want to play mechanic anymore. He spend his entire career at a GM engine facility and has been enjoying retirement.
Would that be a 1066 you are on?
Agent smart: you came this close to catching all the overspray! Not enough detail to see the target at 650 yards away over a valley, a ridge and another valley just to keep it interesting. Twenty or so yards to the right of the spot this pic was shot is the view for the 850 yard set of three targets. Similar terrain to keep windage a guessing game; can't see the air flow through the second valley.A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't.
