Any chance you checked for a leaking base gasket or a restriction in the exhaust housing?

I never liked those 3cyl opti's but they were good for the most part.

Steven
Not sure which base gasket to look for. Exhaust was ok when I pulled lower unit for impeller replacement. Leaking head gasket should have shown up on compression test. It just acts like it is electrical for some reason. Wish I had someone I could borrow a computer from and swap just to make sure.

Your engine is a blind bore no head gasket to leak. Just for grins run it for a short burst with the cowling off. If you already haven't.

I'll check around and see if we have a computer for a 75 or 90. I'm doubtful but hey stranger things have shown up.

Ran it without the cowling checking fuel/air pressure a few weeks ago and didn't notice any extra water leaks anywhere. I knew they are a blind bore cylinder, the tiredness is coming out in me today. Should just tell them to stick it and go back to bed. Did a cylinder drop test as well while still on trailer a few weeks ago with the Rinda software just for the fun of it. New thermostat and gasket as well on it. Almost pulled the trigger on a 90hp computer and would have if Simon said my other was bad.

A few guys from work and I did a short float last evening. Went from the local access and pulled out at my place. Wanted to do this for a few years now and glad we did. Fishing was a good variety of fish but all small. We caught total 1 small mouth, 1 large mouth, 2 bluegill, 1 sunfish, 2 flatheads, 1 channel, 1 crappie, and 1 gar. We all had a great time. Definitely doing it again!

Should have sent me a message about three weeks ago. We parted a late 90hp opti out. Parts are long gone but I'm going to check and see if we have any other parts hanging around for you.

2007 75hp Optimax. Slow throttle up to 4000-4200 no problems it feels like. Once throttle goes past a certain point it misses out and will keep missing out through full throttle. No trouble codes, compression, fuel, air and water pressure are where they need to be. All reading I did on forums for problems, if anything was suspect or close to out of tolerance it was replaced. New impeller, fuel lines and bulb, plugs, reeds, coils, fuel pumps, injectors(fuel and air), tpi, filters, crank sensor, and the computer was sent to Simon performance in california for testing. I have wiggled wires while running to see if something broken. Nada. Got a remote key switch showing up this week to take throttle control wiring out of picture.
I agree with bigmac.
Sounds spark related. My optimax had a recall for all the coils. It a 07 opti 115
Found that out after it did same as yours in the water. All replaced under waranty.

Did the brakes on the equinox this morning. The pads came with some cool orage gloves so i gave em a try. Worked good never tore.
Then i played with the mill a bit. Sure is a great hobby. Wish i had room to store boards to dry them.
