Good luck, them bars had a good following round here, I know of a few guys that stashed away 10 or more of the RWD's and won't part with them for any cost. I personally prefer the stihl lightweight version, far more durable.

What leads to to say more durable? I own and use 3 Stihl lightweight, can say nothing bad about them, used the Oregon RWD a number of years ago but on my step fathers saw. I did not know enough about bars then to make any sense of it. not being ignorant to ask, just curious as i do not know.

The early blue label Oregon RW bars were notorious for the inserts popping out.

There's at least one reputable seller from Misery Missouri on evil bay selling the longer Stihl light bars in a number of lengths and gauges if you don't mind paying the Stihl tax. Not sure where he's getting them, but I just bought a 28" .050 off him and it's brand new in the box.

I can get 28 Stihl Light here, 5 day wait if I cannot find an Oregon, or I might go Tsumura

Tsumura LT bars are great quality bar , yea Oregon stop producing the RW bars , but maybe near future they will redesign a new one . I have several of both Oregon RW and Tsumura LT is a higher quality steel but not as light.

I believe the reason Oregon stopped producing them is they were lifetime warranty and it was eating their bottom line. I know people have them and have no issues, but think of a logging outfit or large tree service bringing 100’s of bars a month for replacement.

Yes that all makes sense for sure. By the amount of people looking for them, I would wager a guess that if they brought them back without the lifetime warranty they would sell plenty for it to be worth while.

I found the Tsumura to not be as light as others, which is why I have stayed with Stihl recently. Tsumura is no cheaper for me either as I have to ship it in. No dealer here.

I know one thing a 36” ORW bar is almost 2 pounds lighter than a standard bar, that’s a big difference if ur using it all day . 4969E9F2-2249-4D5D-9B05-2409DF592B59.jpeg
