Any of you fr’s or your ol’ ladies ever fooled with one of these Instant Pots? This is a an 8 qt Ultra...from doing some reading online, the Ultra has worked the bugs out of the Lux and Duo models that preceded it. Friend of mine paid $145 for it...I got it for $75...never been used. He never even run the initial steam/pressure test...we shall see. It’s a 10-1 pressure cooker, crock pot, does a bunch of other crazy *s-wordt I’ll prob never use, with the exception of hard-boiled eggs.

Talk to me if you’ve used one of these things...seems like it’s a well built deal...it’s pretty solid!

One of the best things we did with ours was get a handful of extra silicone sealing rings for the lid. That frenching thing soaks up the odors of whatever you cook in it and holds them even after it's washed. Boiling them in vinegar helps, but not always. We have one set aside for sweets, one for white rice-eggs-stuff that doesn't odor up, one for more pungent stuff, and a couple extras in case one rips. Haven't had any of the rings rip yet, but it's bound to happen at some point.
