Hi All,

Just stripped a new 372xp to find it has a Gilardoni top end on it. I’ve only ever seen Mahle on them.

Anyone ported one of these yet? Numbers don’t look bad from factory.

No base gasket - 0.58mm squish
Exhaust - 102
Transfers - 128
Intake - 75

Any suggestions on best numbers for these cylinders?

Thanks
Mark

It’s just because it’s so clean. It’s brand new, never been run. I’ll double check later, I see what you mean looking at the pics.

Now this is interesting... Can we see the name tag?

I’ll get some pics later. I’m 99% positive it’s built in Sweden. The last one I got was.

How did it run stock?

I didn’t run it. Took it out the box and stripped it. I am tempted to put it back together and try it before I port it. I just assumed it was a mahle.

Somethings looks off. Not a big deal if it runs well, look at that throttle cable. Looks dark to me and tank looks am, any em marks on parts? All my 372 oem throttle cables are white, may just be the photo. Tags are easy to change.

It’s def a genuine saw. I’ve bought 4 from the same place. A 288, 395 and two 372s. The last 372 was sold as standard so I didn’t take it apart to port, so I’m unsure of the cylinder on it. I’ll get some better pics later of this one. I was just surprised at the different make of cylinder. I know they used gilardoni on older saws but not seen them on the 372 before.

372 got some manufacture changes. The case screw under the muffler is milled now. The older ones are painted. The oil slot is different as well. The engine cover has sleeve in the screw hole.

I also noticed the chain catcher is now the same as the 390xp.

The Gilardoni top end is coming on all the latest 372 OEs.

Have you ported many? How did you find them after porting, do they run the same as mahle?
