OK I started off with a ms200t with a 12" bar then sold that and got a ms180 with a 12" bar then realised I wanted something a bit bigger and got ms230 again with a 12" bar but upgrated to 16" bar, then along came a km90 with a ht head, 017 was next but needstill too much work to get going so that is being stripped for spares. just to confuse things completely I have also got an echo cs2511 tes brand new in box though a very good deal I got when an older one was damaged and got recalled due to them catching fire so sent me a nice new complete one, but I will be selling it after Christmas. not a bad collection considering I dont do tree work and only do odd favours for friends. no doubt I will keep adding to the collection of stihl machines I have hl95, hs80, bg86, ts410, fs90, fs55, km55 km90 x2, x2 hl-km135, mb-km brush cutter, fs-km brush cutter.

Theres a few Europe based chaps such as @Simondo and myself who I'm sure could help you out if you need parts or are looking for a decent saw etc, just get in touch:cool:

Dunno if I would go other brands, as always had stihl and never had any problems plus they are easy to work on

I collected a ms290 today that I won on an auction site the other week. first thing I did was I took the exhaust off to check barrel and piston and all looked good so I was pleased. so then down to the problems I knew ithat had, a broken rear handle and a non working chain break. the break is a snapped band. I also found the clutch springs are floppy but that's a simple thing. it will need a good service and maybe a new chainsaws and bar but they can come later but all in all I'm pleased with my new purchase. It's going to be a bit different from my ms170

Probably not as only get very little use on friends and family trees. I got them all in a state of disrepair. the ms171 had a seized engine so I got a new genuine barrel and piston now it's a nice little saw. the ms230 had been sitting ages and fuel pipes rotted and carb blocked sources genuine pipes and Chinese carb. the ms290 had a broken brake band, clutch springs were weak, oil drive was snapped.

Tonite I added again to the collection and now got a ms170 not the ideal saw but it was cheap so couldn't turn it down. Will see how it runs then I will sell it most probably.

Over the Christmas period the echo was sold and a stihl bg86 was purchased in its place, has anyone else had the problem of the blower feeling like it's seized but on investigation the screws have come out of plate behind flywheel and jam flywheel? Also bought something different a husky 240 saw that needed a new piston so that's running just need to tune carb and I can then compare it against the stihl and see how it does. Out of my collection of ms170, 171, 230, 290 which would it compare most with and I know it's not the 230 or 290.

Ok since my last post on here my collection has grown a little bit.
I have added x2 stihl ts410 disc cutters, husqvarna k760 disc cutter, x5 stihl bg86, x2 stihl bg85, stihl hs81r hedge cutter, stihl br600 backpack blower, stihl ms181 chainsaw, stihl km85 kombi, a home made Km240 kombi, now just need to repair some and sell them to make way for more stuff.

Nice saws.

Now that you are a member here, I give you 6 months and those saws will be replaced by an 026, an 044 and an 066

Took a bit longer than 6 months but I have now got the 026, and also ms260 but that needs a barrel and piston. I also added a 201t to the collection but sold my ms171. I have got x2 km56, x2 km55, hs45, x2 hs81, fs240, hs76 I think that's about it.
