Hey your welcome ...just one thing. I "think'' ! randy came to a conclusion that there was not much gain from a muffler mod on its "Own" . Might be worth checking on that .

You're right , it seems it's a go big or go home thing with those saws and honestly in stock form with it buried it really cut well so I think I'm just going to leave it completely stock .
I'm glad I read that , totally changed my mind and I'm not comfortable with having saws ported . Only have one ported saw and that's my 346xp , had to have at least one :roto2nuse:

Iv settled on the same ...my new 6100 has only 3 tanks so far and I have no complaints. Iv put it on .325 chain from 3/8 to gain on the gear down from the sprocket diameter ...i find the saw stays in the sweet spot in bigger wood . As the 6100 has no cat the guts of the muffler are not as restrictive and heat holding . I have been into my 5105 and removed the cat , same with the 420/421. They all run well more or less as stock IMO ...so im happy to leave the rest alone.

Mine has the ,325 chain as well which I thought was odd for a 60cc saw but it seems to work well .
It came from the factory equipped that way so maybe they found it works best on the 6100

Its a factory option ether set up.
Other way round for us in the UK. 3/8 1.5mm (.58) 18/20 in is the way they mostly come. Dont get me wrong when i say that i see the .325 as a improvement ,it is fine on 18 0r 20 inch and 3/8 ...its just that your into the 9000 rpm bracket and torque aria sooner. I find on .325 even on the dogs and some moderate pressure you can stay in the 10000 + plus range thus giving a little more pull down available . Should say that I kept the same 7 pin sprocket number moving to .325 from 3/8. Its common to go to 8 pin on .325 but i wanted the slight down gear.

I am surprised about the .325. I run a bit of an aggressive 3/8 and even in hard wood. are we talking narrow kerf . 325 or standard. I have a 16" NK I could try lol bet that could rip some hickory !

Hey Corey...I would think you should feel a difference . I just put on a 1.5mm 18 in bar and LPX chain (any Husq small bar mount set up will do as im sure you know).

I'm hoping the euro spike will hang low enough to allow me to hang a roller catcher on it.
