So you're just modding the control bolt and getting good gains? I found trying to mod the piston to be tough for a neaderthal like myself.

You can always justify another saw.

Which oil pump can be swapped into a 361?? Thought I read it was a 460 pump. Or should I just try and modify mine ? Drives me nuts how stingy it is.
I remember reading that they fit. The 361 is very frugal.

Yes sir, it makes a big difference. I do worry about it lasting, if it's a case hardened piece, then, we just nixed the hard part.

This is a simple and effective modification. My stock 461 oiler would hardly wet a 24" bar. Bought a used 460 oiler and modded it this way, now it covers a 28" very well. 32" wouldn't be a problem either. Thanks mdavlee

The high output oiler is stock on the 460 wrap / west coast model, I believe??

Been a while, but I put that oiler control bolt on 2 -660s and 361. You can see the difference

I have the old stock control bolts, maybe try this with a dremel??

I like the control bolt work better. It leaves the plunger ramp untouched and still hardened.
Both pump mods are good for extra long stumping bars and cant racers.
This is one important place to polish the metal unlike cylinder walls and ports.
