Wondering if the newer ms261 cm has the new V3 m-tronic system on it and if so, what the cutoff date is that they started using the V3. Redbull got me some info and it looks like May of 2018 they started using a different module and I'm wondering if that's the new version

What is the difference between Version 1 and Version 2 on the 261cm mtronic?

Chainsaw Jim fiddled with mine, it really has an attitude now, responds like a 241 but has more power. V 2 Non mtronic.

I’m going to have a hard decision soon.

Hard decision with what? You thinking about selling that saw?

I’m doing a kind of stupid experiment.

I have the modded 261,

I have a new 2018 346XP out for the full woods port treatment including 357XP carb and air filter update.

and

A 241CM on its way to the sausage factory for a solid woods port.

When they are all back I’ll decide on which is the best old farts saw, probably keep the 241, and 1 of the 50cc’s.

And I have the 572 for big stuff.

I’m not bright and I am bored, and I love 2 Strokes. I raced them for most of my deformative years but don’t have the tools anymore to do my own.

I'm leaning on a new 261cm but the 241 has my eye, I can get a new 241 for 509 but the 261 is 549 with a 16".
I want something small to do small jobs and limbing etc. I fiquired the 241 is a mighty mouse then I noticed the 261 only 40$ more.
The difference should be a no brainer for me. I'm really liking the m-tronic stuff.
