Several men have asked me how I make flat board stock from firewood. After air drying it for a year, I use a table saw to rip it and cut it to width, sometimes with a band saw. Then I plane it to thickness with a thickness planner, cut to length, and the join it. Yes, it's lots of work but a very rewarding hobby. I keep on the lookout for knot-free logs as I collect firewood, especially oak, hard maple, and walnut.Damn nice woodworked projects fellas!
Excellent wood work you and the others do here, my friend. My dad used to do a lot of wood-working, furniture making/refinishing back in the 60's/70's. I miss seeing the carport/garages all those years ago, slam full of projects he used to work on.Several men have asked me how I make flat board stock from firewood.
