Hi, I'm just looking for some opinions on the HD filters for the saws. I am working on a saw that my friend left for dead. We do a lot for each other so I'm just doing this for him. The kits seem a little pricey for what they are (eBay), so I don't want to spend $60 for no reason, but if it will help performance or help the saw withstand abuse I'm willing to do it.
That said he is very hard on saws, dull chains etc. The intake box was full of powder and there is some scuffing on the intake port side of piston (can feel it with finger nail). The saw starts and runs but probably needs a carb kit (found a bunch of gunk in the fuel pump).
Finally when I pull jug to check out the cylinder, should I even consider a gasket delete on a saw that is going to be rode hard and put away wet?
P.s. considering aftermarket clutch, farmer tech vs hlsupply (big price difference, is there a corresponding diff in quality)
