I have done that dance before. You cannot specify “gloss”when you order one, as I’m sure you know. This is how I did it. After ordering ,receiving and installling the “flat” kit I tried a couple things before I scored the shiny one I have . I ordered the HD cover by itself from Makita and it came in “Gloss”.
Not sure why, but that’s what I did.

Makita website shows the shiny cover on PRZ1 & PRZ2. Maybe they had an over run or something? I have a HD kit I purchased seperately but can't remember if the one in the box was shiny or dull. Have two PRZ2's that I have not seen yet, so not sure what came on em. I think the kit does have a shiny top...I seem to remember thinking...'well this won't match'. Was going to turn my PRZ into a '2' but decided to leave it as is.
