Well, the stock 462 is very impressive … especially when you consider the weight of the powerhead. Glad I got one!

Mason, mine does not feel peaky at all, in fact when I lean on it a bit it keeps pulling real nice … and the throttle response is very impressive.

If it were peaky, it would not have done so well with the 8 pin.

From the little bit I got to use one ( a 462 ) I felt it had great power for what it is. I used it with a 24"RW and a 7 pin. Great falling saw, can't tell if it's real thirsty or if shes got a smallish tank. The last sentence was said by a friend of mine that owns the saw, he would know better anyhow!

It’s peakier than a 461 but cuts about the same speed. Awesome chainspeed and rpm in the cut for a stock saw. I also did feel the gas tank was smallish, must’ve done that to save weight.

I'm sitting on pins and needles guys... still waiting for my machinist to get my squish work done :sconf: he had a bad tonsilitis last week and was unable to work on the cyl. But this weekend its time!

Baseline cut's are done on a 28" log with a 28" bar and 7pin.

How's it compare side by side with the timing advanced 044?

Mike. Your 462 should wipe the 044s arse. And take its lunch money twice on Sunday.
If not there is something wrong with it.
You gotta be real here...
