That' a suprise to me i would have thought they would have done a 490 590 or husky 550 562 or stihl 261 etc. Before a low price point saw.

I wonder if you have to drill the cat out of the muffler to make it run right like the 400. They could sell a lot of mufflers without the cat for sure.

I believe you're right sadly the 288 is mostly out of production i wish they would jump all over that one lol i did see what i believe was a 2260 clone i will try to find it but that echo clone might be a nice light little limber.

288 clone sweet! 2260 clone post that *s-word ! I just saw a 2260 for 550 shipped And i was telling my selfnI have my cad under control ( I bought 4 saws last week)

They have been doing that since the beginning. Probably the most copied saw ever is the Zenoah G5000. Now being chinese modified with varying ccm and outside plastic.

No copies for me , I'd rather pay a bit extra and have a good feeling when running a saw , not supporting design theft and crappy construction .

I agree. And if you wait til their dealer days the real price is only about $20 different.

Echo has or had a fleet service program for their saws and other equipment making them attractive for crews i don't know the specifics but seemed like a good deal.
