Getting ready to dive into my first porting adventure. I have an open port Husqvarna 51 with a 45mm bore. From what I have learned here I should widen the exhaust and intake to 65% or as wide as everything allows while squaring up the sides. I have already deleted the base gasket and squish is at .031, compression at 170psi. I'm going to muffler mod abviously and match to the exhaust port.

I took a stab at getting timing numbers and I believe they are ex:105 , trans:125, intake:70 ?

How do these numbers look ? Should I leave them alone ? Saw will be a limb only saw with a 16" .325 bar and chain.

I believe you are going to find the cylinder to have a larger exhaust port than intake from the factory. I would match intake size to exhaust.

Compression sounds good to me for a limbimg saw. Do you know which carburetor you have?

Yes, the intake is very small on this saw. Not much material on the spigot side to open it up. It has the Walbro carb, but can't remember the exact model.
