Just bought 20 acres of thick mature forest in Indiana. Got myself a 36" Granberg and want to do some slab and siding milling. Looking at the 372xp as a versatile saw for a big guy. I plan on doing some light milling and treating the saw how it wants to be treated. Anyone know of a good used saw for a reasonable price? Got my eye on a 2017 local one for $400 that looks pretty nice but wanted to reach out here as well Thanks

Welcome to ope Indy.
That one locally sounds like a great deal.
Be sure to keep it well oiled and a bit fat for milling.

I appreciate the suggestions! If the wifeypooh would allow me to throw $800 at a saw I would jump on those you listed. The 372xp is more "arrordable" I understand displacement 8s key for milling, but I would not do a ton of milling and feel the 372xp would work well if it was fat with sharp blades and wedges.

See if she'll allow you $750. Ported. It'll do whatever you want it to do with a 42" bar. And oil it20190304_162220.jpg 20190304_162230.jpg 20190304_162244.jpg

Hmmm, I might be able to swing it. The suggestions are helping, I've had several. There's a clean ms661c with a new 25" b&c for $750 as well. I was trying to be in the $550 range. I have to make a decision....

Let me know. I don't have it listed, so it's not going anywhere. Mike Lee ported it for a customer and then I bought it from him couple years ago

Even tho I'm a Stihl guy and have a 661, the 394 would be better for milling with the outboard clutch and its already ported.

Thanks everyone, this is why I became a member. To buy a great saw from a respected person and put it to work. I don't think it's going to be underpowered haha, a video really helped and it was comical what it did to that log. It clearly will be able to handle the 22-24" ripping I'll be doing with it. I'll upload a video when I make some cuts
