I have a 371xp that is missing the top cover, muffler, cylinder, piston and air filter. I have a good used husqvarna 371k Cylinder and muffler I plan to use with this saw for a future build. However I was told the concrete saw cylinders will not work on a chainsaw because they have the wrong port timing. Is there any truth to this?
Thanks

I'd be willing to bet that the 371k and 371xp cylinders will be the same, however I can't say that with 100% certainty as I have not compared them.

However, I do know for a fact that the 375k cylinder (which is the same cylinder on the 75cc 372XPW) is different than a regular 372xp cylinder. Possible you are recalling that?

I was just told that all concrete saw cylinders had different port timing to make them run better at a lower rpm than a chainsaw. It doesn’t sound right to me.

Well I can say that in stock config my 372 XPW with the demo saw cylinder ran quite strong. Didn't seem lacking in any way as a stock saw.

Only the earliest 371k and 375K demo saws had the different port timing. Initially it was thought that the port timing needed to be in line with the 6500 RPM coil.
There aren't many of those units in circulation.

You can rob the 375K cylinders from the majority of demo parts saws if they're in good shape and make a 75cc chainsaw with them. If you don't have the piston though that gets expensive.
To my knowledge there aren't any 51.4mm aftermarket slugs yet.

You're right Jacob. Only option for a 51.4mm P&C is OEM and interestingly those didn't get the price slash last time I looked
