I prefer 1996 to 2009 GM "C" or "H" body cars with the 3800 V6. They may not be much for looks compared to new cars but the powertrain is pretty much simple and bulletproof.

None of these are show vehicles by any means. I keep this many for "spares". In case one breaks down, I have another to keep going until it's fixed.
When we were younger and the kids were still little, my wife and I made the decision we didn't want a baby sitter raising our children so Goldie stayed home to raise them, I also made sure she had a car in case of emergencies. I rode a motorcycle to work unless it was snowing or such bad weather I couldn't ride . I remember riding in one morning and passed a bank. Temperature showed 6 degrees . I guess that's why I keep a lot of vehicles now .

Too hard to tell from the pictures if the basic engine came off undamaged.

A Farmertec MS390 engine is about $70.

So, not worth my time to even salvage unless it was free.
