any of yous guys plant one? I am really into growing celebrity brand tomatoes. Broccoli squash Bout anything really. Only two damn vegetables I don't do are Brussel sprouts and asparagus. I can pretty well grow anything else. I sat out some broccoli today. It's way too early it's likely gonna die but it's getting closer to that time. What y'all plant?

Garden is closest thing to farming I get to do these days. Regular job, kids, and a house keep me from my old side jobs. There was a guy named "French Louie" lived in the Adirondacks north of here who had pet snakes he kept in and around his gardens. There's a book written about him

I have one. I used railroad ties for a perimeter and filled with soil to make a somewhat raised bed. Put a little fence around it to keep the vermin out. I enjoy growing sweet bell peppers the most. Last season had a few rows of lettuce greens, onions, bell peppers, a jalapeno plant, 2 full length rows of sweet potatoes and 2 rows of red skin potatoes. 5 tomato plants and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
This was one of the first grows w/ the ties years ago(its been expanded since pic). Never really took garden pics after that.

Growing up grandpa use to till gardens for local folks. Grandma always had a large garden with a large section of raspberrys too. Both my parents and inlaws have gardens so we still get fresh vegetables but we don't have the room at home for one.

Here's last year at the start of the season
2016-06-07 21.00.08 HDR.jpg

Yellow beans, snap peas, onions, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, sweet and hot peppers, beets, radishes, kale and chard. The woven fabric for weed barrier really helped with weed control. I don't think I'll ever go back to hoeing.

I use straw. Lots of straw. Mulch up my plants Funny I also have a irrigation for a field that covers my whole garden. It's tough to keep up with weeds because of the amount of water my garden gets but I can sure grow a big crop

I could eat fresh good sweet corn every night. I like mixed yellow and white.

Me too, I just love it. Been my favorite thing to eat for over 50 years. I like the white corn better myself. We have always planted Silver Queen. I really like the super sweets also, but it cost way to much $$$$ for me when you have to buy many lbs. of it. So far I can still get the Silver Queen for $10.00 a lb. bulk seed here. It takes about 4 lbs. per unit on my 4 row planter to keep it planting with out skips. Some of those super sweets are over $26.00 a lb. too much for me.

As far as gardens go I get lucky. I get free seed for buying field crop seed. A right good sized bag of real good stuff. Pioneer seed is what I plant. They give me a bag of whatever seeet corn I ask for. I takes care of my neighbors. Put it right in the field planter and run a few little patches. Trouble with sweet corn still when it's time to pick its time to pick. I let the neighbors go for it. No way anyone could even freeze all of it. The standing fodder I feed the cattle

If you really like heirloom tomatoes, try Brandywine suddiths strain and Cherokee purple. Very good IMHO.

The Brandywine can be tough to grow and good tomatoes, but when it does it is awesome. Cherokee purple is easier and more prolific.

Sweetest cherry tomato is sungold.
