I’ve seem a couple of you tubers like bucking and August, have had it modded by walkers saw shop iirc. Which involved by passing the cat and using a stihl bar with the 1/4 chain and 1.1 mm (o.43] bar.
That YouTube vid posted above did not sound like it had a muff mod done on it.
I'd like to find a spare muffler so I can gut one out.

I prefer the kerf on a 325 for forestry use. For firewood, the 3/8 would prolly work just fine. But you will also sharpen even NK 325 much less often than 3/8.

The bar shouldn't be a surprise as they are Japanese. Tsumura is ubiquitous on Echos and Shindaiwas as well.

Up in the tree limbing and topping, the 1/4-.043 is the cats ass on a saw. After watching August running his modded 2511, I'm convinced the 1/4 is the way to go on this particular saw.

I bought one last Friday and now I'm waiting on my bar and check sins from the local dealer, and hoping that @AlfA01 can get me a sprocket.

Dan, is the oil pump drive worm different on the 1/4 than it is on the 3/8? It's not a "gear" on this saw, but rather a little "tang" that seats against a tooth on the sprocket.

Scott, maybe try Nate at https://www.performanceoutdoorequipment.com/ If anyone in the States has them in stock he does, he's the first one I heard talk about that mod last fall.

I got one of the West Coast Muscle Saw versions with the 1/4” Stihl sets. With that and the porting, muffler & whatever else he does, the thing flat rips. It’s like having Luke Skywalker’s light saber in the small stuff and it holds its own with full bar of maple and oak. Awesome saw.

X2. Nate's pretty much my go to for anything echo. When I broke the brake flag on my 2511 he pulled the one off his floor model so he could get it to me quicker. Had it here the next day!

So that’s where it went... I was ready to pull the trigger last fall but the only one he had was without a brake...

I'm all for supporting friends, local business and stuff, just pointing out an alternative for those who could benefit from it.

I'm waiting to hear this answer myself

I believe TESC has the beginnings of AT tech in the coil. ESC, if my research is correct, should be Engine Speed Control.

The coil corrects this model for constant idle speed and has digital circuitry to control idle and avoid over revving.

From What I remember the C model is 1/4 pitch and the non C isn't, but Echo does seems to be introducing AT type stuff.
