While I was screwing around looking for electrical / ignition issues, I did something to the throttle linkage. It's loose, sloppy, and has no tension. Therefore, I'm unable to rev up the engine high enough to cut brush. Anyone know how to tighten up the tension on the cable? I'm sure it has something to do with how I put the handle parts back together.

BTW, it was an ignition issue, resolved, that caused it not to run at all. Now I can't rev it up.

The cable in the handle is most likely out of place. You can find a you tube video on how to put it back together. Like this one.

Thanks, stretch. But my whacker is an older version, Doesn't look much like what is in that pic. Thanks for taking a shot. Jake

Most handles have a stop that the end of the cable sheath goes against. If the sheath is out of place, the cable can float back and forth when you operate the trigger. The vid is just an example. You might hopefully find one for your trimmer.
