Bought a DTI 20 K tach last year and the tach seems to go all over the place in readings.Cheacking my 070 sat. and it showed 18500. Checked it with an oppama and 9100. Any one else having this situation ?

Are you using it wirelessly?
It could be to close to the plug wire and act all funky. My fast tach was that way until I got a holder for it.

You are probably in the wrong mode. If it is reading 2X the RPM you need to the mode. It is in the manual. The closer to the plug I hold it the more accurate it is.

it is in the default or 360* mode .

Have you tried checking another engine like a lawn mower? Have you tried the 070 with the included cable?

yes sir . I always use cable and ground on engine.

I think they are pretty good about warranty stuff. Kinda remember someone saying that at least.

You are probably set on 720, you should be set to 360

It is in 360* mode. I sent it back to DTI at their request to have it checked.
