Dolmar ps540 value

There is a local that is selling a dolmar ps540. Asking price is $200. Good deal? It looks is average condition.

Most of the ones we sold for $299 to $329 brand new.

Picked ‘er up for $165. Started on first pull and ran on second pull. She’ll earn her keep in the herd well.

I run 3/8 and .325 on my 115. Does just fine

Finally got a few minutes to open her up a bit. It needs a new chain and drive sprocket. And it has the usual dolmar oil piddle.

But the cylinder looks clean. Some vertical scratches that looks like it was run light on oil on the mix but it feels like it has great compression.

Oh yeah, the first 4 of the serial is 0412 so it was made April 2012. Hell yeah.

December 2004 was probably the final production run for the PS-540. But that chassis is still in production as a 115.

My 115 says 1987. In Europe did they stay 115 or switch back and forth?

I can assume the ps540 has a limited ignition coil. I’m thinking this weekend I might be able to get it out to the woods and tune it up.
