My burr jumped out of the cylinder and took off a little plating above one of the upper transfers. Anyone think there would be a problem running it like that? This is a personal saw and not one I'll be selling.

id just blend it in. call it research, and maybe extend that upper more toward the intake more than u normally might.
I guess I'll just make sure its smooth right there and see what happens. I tossed it in the trash last night but dug it back out to see what you guy's thought about it.

Since its a personal saw I'd add a bridge port to see how it runs like so as long as the end of the rings wont catch it.
I've just started trying to port saws not to long ago and I don't think I'm ready to try bridge ports. I'd probably screw the cylinder up even more.

The chip out of the plating extends around 2mm above the transfer. If I did do a bridge port, it would be opening around 113-114 degrees and the transfers open at 118. Would something like that work?

Chamfer it with a diamond ball. Then scotchbrite cylinder when you’re done with all of it. No worries.

Happens often.

I went over it earlier with a diamond wheel, then sand paper and after that red scotchbrite. This is how it looks after that. It looks deeper in the pic than it is.

I put this 48mm jug on an 034 chassis with a cleaned up piston. It runs as good or better than any 036 I've had. I have over a dozen tanks on it now. With the flow lines in the plating I'd say it was like this from the plant. The jug came off of a long running saw that had gotten an air leak. I cleaned up the transfer and didn't touch these spots.

That gives me a some hope. I've always tossed the cylinder if it was just a little messed up.

I put the jug on it this morning and after I run it tomorrow or the next day I report back.

I honestly expected a turd with lost compression, I used a base gasket fully expecting to tear it back down. I don't even think I touched the muffler. It runs great!
