I have a craftsman 33CC model 358.791140 weedeater and it’s the attachment capable model anyway it has the bigger strattocharged engine and im trying to rebuild it. It will run half or full throttle but when it tries to idle it will die. I did clean the carb and tune it but same results. When I took it apart I saw a buildup of oil (wet dirt) on the starter side oil seal so it must be leaking from there. I have some pictures for you to see also this engine has plastic transfor port covers. Not sure how poulan / husqvarna made the engine like that must be cost cutting. Also would like to know if I can use Honda bond 4 or motoseal for the clamshell crankcase halves?

Normally I would yes but this engine does have a gasket with seals so I would it and just a dab of RTV where the 2 cylinder gaskets meet the seals.

Yes, Motoseal is a good choice for sealing 2 strokes. However I would use a new factory gasket first. If it is a rubber gasket, give it a squirt of white grease before you install it.
