I kinda like the 4 points a wee bit more in the smaller wood. But the 3 points are great for sure!
I thought those 3 point dogs were gonna be the next new craze like the bark box. I saw them on all the cool kids and youtubers saws as soon as they came out so I thought that was the case? Lol

I think the bark-box is great. I’ll definitely use them. It’s well made, looks good, sounds good, and increases performance. So does drilling a hole in the muffler and putting a deflector over it. It’s a muffler mod folks. The wheel has not been re-invented, lol. Some of the youtubers are a little overboard from the couple I’ve seen.

I do really like the 3-points. Well designed, and my top choice if I want more dog than these 4-points.

So when are you gonna try a ms400c to replace that 562? Lol. I am almost certain it takes the ms362 wrap kit and hd clutch cover/dawgs since they share a lot of parts. It could be a nice addition to your 500i for smaller brushy timber.

My 2 cent on the 3 pointers is they bite into the bark like no other set of dawgs and work awesome for bucking. The only thing I struggle with when using them is getting my cuts to line up when putting in the face. So I'll put some 4 points on the I and see if that helps.

Yeah, I’d like to try one when they are here. Either one of those, or I’ll just get another 462 as my small saw.

Couldn't pass it up when the shop called today and said they got a few more.
Just retired the first one I bought. 7 months steady tree lengthing without a hiccup....pretty good in my book.

Nice! You going to rebuild the retired one or use her for spare parts?

It still runs great, I'll just keep it in the quiver for now. I usually run a saw four months and somebody gets a hell of a deal. I figure between parts availability and price of parts on the 500's, I'm better off just keeping every one I buy.
Which is really pissing off the guys in the rigging that usually buy my used stuff, lol.

They were supposed to be available a month ago.....I got tired of waiting.
And I've had a pretty steady diet of big, dusty fir.

Mine hasn’t looked any better in cedar so I feel your pain, even the 462 is plugged up just as bad as well.
