I have read several posts that Chinese rings are not any good. What makes Caber and OEM rings better than Chinese rings?
Do they seal better, last longer, and/ or have lower tension?Great question!
I would guess the steel used...

This is honestly the best answer you'll get.Don't be a tightwad, use OEM.
The Caber F Cast rings r very hardI have used all of them with no problems.
Some of the cabers can be very hard to seat,I would rather have a soft ring that wears instead of wearing the cylinder.
Thanks, that answers my question.I have used all of them with no problems.

That does not answer my question. Why should I buy a set of OEM rings?Don't be a tightwad, use OEM.

For the price difference involved I can't see rolling the dice. I HAVE used plenty of aftermarket parts over the years, but anymore only when I can no longer get oem.The rings that come with hyway pistons are pretty good, cabers are good also,I don't think oem is the only answer.
Because often, and even most cases as it oertains to chinese parts they are of inferior quality. That does not answer my question. Why should I buy a set of OEM rings?

Prices have come down,on stihls I only use oem because it's the same price as meteor. I never just buy rings though, I replace the piston too.For the price difference involved I can't see rolling the dice. I agree. Makes no sense to pay 3x for rings when meteors r just as good as oem or even betterRings were almost $40 /set. Piston is $45-55. Caber work fine for $12.
